Taste of Arlington Festival

The Taste of Arlington Festival

An annual event that all tenants of our Arlington VA rental properties enjoy is the Taste of Arlington Festival. It involves over 40 restaurants and draws in over 15,000 people. Located in the Ballston neighborhood, it showcases restaurants from all over the Arlington region, and it is considered one of the DC metro area’s premier food festivals.

A Festival Rental Property Residents Drool Over

Since 1987, the popularity of this Ballston street festival has increased significantly and now boasts ever-increasing crowds of over 15,000 people. The upcoming 2011 Taste of Arlington will expand its spotlight in a way that also showcases the Clarendon, Court House, Rosslyn, Crystal City, and Virginia Square urban villages (all neighborhoods in which we have numerous rental properties).

Why is it so popular? The food is considered of the best in the DC area, and this says a lot given how food-centric Washingtonians are. In a region known for its national and international diversity of cuisine, good food is not hard to find, and the best restaurants are constantly in stiff competition.

To eat from the 40 participating restaurants, the food festival is not free, but nor is it pricey. For only $20 for the full day, you can enjoy samples of the best gourmet cuisine from around Arlington, and all proceeds go to local charities. It is no wonder that the Taste of Arlington quickly becomes an annual favorite for many occupants of our rental properties.

The Northern Virginia Food Scene

Northern Virginia is something as a foodie magnet for those of us that live in the DC metro region. From the 24 hour Korean BBQ joints in Annandale, VA to the classic American staples at the high-class diners in Fairfax, something for every taste in available, and it does not take much to find them.

For the tenants of our rental properties, The Washington Posts’s Food Section, the Washington City Paper’s Young & Hungry blog, and DCist’s Food & Drink section are all popular local sources to find out what is new, refreshing and hip in the Arlington food scene.

Transportation to the Taste of Arlington

For the residents in our Ballston rental properties—The Amelia, Birchwood, Quincy Plaza, Richmond Square, Oakcrest, Thomas Place, and Randolph Towers—you are going to be within easy walking distance. For all of our other Arlington rental properties, it will only be a slightly longer walk, or a short metro ride away. The participating restaurants span the entire region, so your favorite stall might just be the dining establishment down your block!
